Deva, from a village in Bihar comes to the city in Culcutta with Dadaji for his medical treatment. He meets his friends from the village, who are working hard to earn their living. The story starts with the joining of a new English Teacher Rahul Prakash Udyavar (Shahid Kapoor) in Swaraswati Vidya Mandir school, situated in the outskirts of Mumbai Suburbs.
