Raj (Ram Charan) is a Hyderabad-based gambler living with his adopted parents who supports his means of living. Tragedy strikes the family when his adopted father (M. S. Narayana) is diagnosed with cirrhosis as a result of alcoholism. Raj needs 2 million for his father's liver transplantation, which must be done within a month. As he is on the lookout for money, he is approached by James (Ajmal Ameer), his rival in betting, with a betting challenge. James dares Raj to make Chaitra (Tamannaah), a dental student and the daughter of a dreaded and influential businessman Bellary (Mukesh Rishi) to fall in love with him. If he is able to complete the task before 31 December 2011, James will give him the money needed for his father's operation and if not, he has to give up betting forever. Desperate for the money, Raj takes up the challenge and begins wooing Chaitra. Initially, she appears to spurn his advances and sets him even tougher challenges to propose her. Raj successfully overcomes all these challenges and Chaitra soon reciprocates his advances. Bellary finds out about their relationship and sends his henchmen to kill the couple on the night of 31 December. Raj and Chaitra successfully dodge the henchmen and escape to Srisailam. Bellary, with the help of his corrupt minister-friend Baireddanna (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and the latter's Dubai-based son (Dev Gill), begins a search for them. At Srisailam, James rescues the couple from Bellary's henchmen but gets stabbed by Baireddanna's son who also kidnaps Chaitra. An injured James then reveals about Raj's past. Raj's father Suryanarayana (R. Parthiepan) was a respected man in Rayadurg and his best friend, a rich man named Ramamurthy (Nassar), was Chaitra's father. Chaitra and Raj were childhood friends. Bellary, who is Ramamurthy's brother-in-law, found out about the presence of iron ore under Ramamurthy's land and along with Baireddanna, decided to exploit the ore for their own benefit. When Suryanarayana and Ramamurthy objected, they and their families, except Raj and Chaitra, were killed by Bellary and Baireddanna. Chaitra was adopted by Bellary who planned to kill her when she becomes an adult so that he could acquire Ramamurthy's land. Chaitra, who was aware about Raj's love for making bets, told her childhood friend James to trap Raj by placing the bet (which took place earlier in the movie) so that Bellary and Baireddanna can be destroyed using him. Raj decides to avenge his father's death and kills Bellary, Baireddanna and his son at Rayadurg. He rescues Chaitra and distributes Ramamurthy's land to the villagers after marrying her. more»

Solomon Joseph (Prithviraj) is a police sub-inspector corrupt to the core. He has learned the importance of money and power and using his power he earns had loads of money. And spends on wine and women.He is the S.I. of Rajakad police station where two underworld kings, Ummachan (Devan) and Vavachan (Vijayaraghavan), clashes frequently. Solomon is friendly with Vavachan and helps him many ways, including helping move the vans with narcotics. He happens to lock horns with the younger brother of Ummachan who is an arrogant and spoiled brat. Blinded the power of his brother's money and political power, Dennis asks Solomon to apologize in front of his friends, who might hold him low respect since he was badly treated by the precinct Sub Inspector. Denis and his friends get beaten to pulp by Solomon who throws them into the jail afterwards.Ummachan manages to release his brothers and friends, but during the process he threatens Solomon. Next day, when he gets info that Dennis and friends are being entertained by a local (prostitute), he catches them red handed, with the intention of humbling Ummachan as well as getting as much money as possible from him.Ummachan is the next candidate for the Legislative Assembly and such an incident would mar his political future, so he humbly asks Solomon's services. But Solomon would not budge unless he is bribed 'properly'. Since the stakes are high, he claims to receive a significant amount for his service. Ummachan tries to get Solomon caught by anti-corruption personnel, but fails and finds himself behind the bars for attempted bribery to a police official. Blinded by murderous rage, Dennis try to murder Solomon with his four friends. Solomon beats up all the five and takes Denis to police station. The beating continues and hours of beating up takes its toll and Dennis dies. Solomon with the help of the police constable on duty buries up the body and covers up the murder, but gets a punishment transfer to northern Kerala. At that time, Ummachan threatens him, but Solomon is fearless.He takes charge of Bathiyadukka, which is ruled by Abubaker Haji (Captain Raju). Haji made all his fortune by cheating his wealthy mentor Valiyaveetil Baputi. Baputi's wife and his daughter Nadia is facing eviction from their home because of Baputi's debts. Haji refuses to help them. Haji's son tries to molest Nadia and she files a complaint with new SI. Solomon tries to catch his fish from the muddy waters and arranges a drama which causes the death of Nadia's mother. This was unexpected and for the first time in his life, Solomon's conscience is dented. A couple of days after Haji's son tries to rape Nadia and Solomon saves her.In the meanwhile the constable who assisted Solomon to bury Denis' body turns up at Bathiyadukka and begs Solomon to give him money for his daughter's marriage. He hints that Ummachan is after him to get the info about his brother's remains and ready to offer him anything for that info. Solomon goes to Haji's place for financial assistance but received by his son, who refuses to pay Solomon anything because of the grudge he keeps. In return, Solomon hijacks Haji's bootlegging truck with stuff worth tens of millions rupees and takes 2.5 million rupees instead of the half million he asked earlier. But Haji is cleverer, his men ambushes Solomon on his way back and wounds him. But he recovers and start his life as a new man. He falls in love with Nadia and wants to marry her. The film gets its title from Mammootty's character's role Johnnie Varghese. He has a brother Bobby Varghese who studies in Bangalore degree college for Economics. A visit from his brother and friends changes Johnnie's mind and he joins college despite of his age. From there he clashes with Swamy who rules the college with his drug gang. Because of his love towards his brother Bobby, Johnnie joins to his college as a student and starts living together. Soon he became the hero of the college as well as rival to Saamy and his gang. Bobby falls in love with his classmate Chandini, who was a depressed girl, as she was an adopted child to her parents. Chandini was addicted to drugs by Saamy and was hospitalised. Johnnie suffers from eye sight problems and realizes that he will soon lose his sight completely. Because of this he wants to see Bobbie's marriage and pleads to Chandini's parents for the same. At last they agrees after hearing his story. On the night of the marriage Bobbie is killed by Saamy and his gang. When Johnnie comes to know about his brother's death, he rushes towards Saamy and Didi, the leader of the gang and kills them.
