The film kicks off when Akshay, young IT professional from Delhi; only child of a single parent Suneel Narang embarks on a journey to get his father, a widower; married so to finally put an end to his prolonged loneliness. Co-incidentally in Jaipur, a vibrant young girl Poonam is on the same hunt to find a partner for her mother, Shoma; whom she's seen as a divorcee since childhood. They get in touch with each other through a matrimonial website named 'secondmarriage.com' and after initial denial of the idea by their parents they finally sail through and get they married. Poonam and Shoma then join Akshay and Suneel into a new adequate flat in Gurgaon and a distinguished family scenario arises for the four, filled with a new cook hailing from a rustic background, Bihaari and a north-eastern maid Flower. Suneel and Shoma are not at ease with each other to start with but gradually spark of romance start to fly off. Poonam and Akshay who'd become good friends from the word go and who themselves are lonely souls with bitter memories; are happy to discover a feeling which always eluded them - the joy of a family. But, little does anyone know the course of destiny and upheaval which it is to bring to their family and which shall germinate from the seed of love! It's when Poonam and Akshay find themselves in love with each other after a night of irrepressible emotions which result into an inconceivable event; that the happiness of the four goes for a toss. Ramesh (Jeetendra) starts managing the office of an industrialist who strongly suspects his relatives to be looting him. Ramesh finds the culprit and keeps a tight leash on everything happening in the office, thereby earning the wrath of the industrialist's relatives. Ramesh and Nisha (the industrialist's daughter Jaya Prada) initially find themselves at loggerheads, but eventually, fall in love with each other. The industrialist is happy about this development until he sees Ramesh cheating on his daughter. He fires Ramesh the very same day. The industrialist is murdered and Jaya Prada also sees Ramesh in her house that same night. Ramesh is dragged to court and is shortly framed for murder. Jaya Prada is upset, and the ill-intentioned relatives start closing their net around her, forcing her to marry Shakti Kapoor (the son of two of the industrialist's relatives). In the meantime, the grief-stricken Ramesh meets another person named Gangu (also Jeetendra) in jail who looks exactly like him. Rajeshwar is the only son of Dharamraj, who is an industrialist, and partners with Naglingam Reddy, Nagendra, and Dhanraj. Rajeshwar then meets a girl from a poor family Bharati, who happens to be his school teachers daughter and falls in love with her. Bharati's father is Vishnupratap a schoolteacher, who is really unhappy for he is unable to earn enough money to feed his family and provide them with basic amenities. He and other teachers work in the school managed by Dharamraj. The fund management headed by Dhanraj have been for years without giving any hike in fees to teachers making them work. When Rajeshwar comes to know of these he starts confronting each lie of the partners.Bharati has a neighbour, Tilak, who is unemployed, and lives with his mother, Sharda, who works as a maidservant in Dhanraj's house. Later he gets the job of a manager in Dharamraj industries and starts almost obstructing all the criminal activities carried out by the three partners. Rajeshwar gets impressed with the sincerity of Tila. Meanwhile, Tilak falls in love with the Dhanraj'daughter, Rani. Dharamraj accidentally meets Sharda and he realises that Tilak is his long lost nephew. Dharamraj tells Rajeshwar the history of his family and how Tilak is related to him.
