The film tells the story of chartered accountant Vikram (Shawar Ali) and his keep Soniya (Meera) who are waiting for another accountant Muqaadam (Rashid Khan) to deliver 5 crores hard cash at their farmhouse. Vikram works for Sultan Corporation which is owned by Sultan (Ranjeet). As soon as Muqaadam delivers the money, Vikram and Sonia plan to kill Muqaadam and escape to Singapore the next day to start a new life. Vikram and Soniya go exactly by their plan. Enter Karan Oberoi (Abhishek Kumar) whose car breaks down in front of Vikram's farmhouse. Karan also happens to be Soniya's ex-classmate in her college. Muqaadam's girlfriend Reshma (Kavita Radheshyam), a former exotic dancer who is waiting for Muqaadam to return, plans to take matters into her own hands. The story revolves around Manikyan (Mohanlal), Sreekrishnan(Nedumudi Venu) and Karthumbi (Shobana) and the love triangle between them. Manikyan works for Sreekrishnan and Sreekrishnan sees him like a brother. Once when they both are returning from a Mela after shopping, Sreekrishnan sees Karthumbi and gets attracted. But then a fight erupts there and they all have to flee. Sreekrishnan flees alone while Manikyan has to take Karthumbi with him. At night, he flees in the opposite direction and so loses his way. Karthumbi knows the way back but she pretends as if she does not know it and enjoys the fun. Manikyan has to struggle to get out of that place. During that time they fall in love.Once they are back in Manikyan's village, Sreekrishnan proposes her and plans to get married to her. Manikyan can not resist because Sreekrishnan is like an elder brother to him. But Karthumbi opposes. When Sreekrishnan gets to know about this, he gets angry and Manikyan becomes his enemy and he tries to take revenge. Passenger is based on two characters, who never had anything to do with each another, who come into each other's lives. The movie shows the events that follow. He respects the law and always thinks of the welfare of the people around him. His wife Anuradha (Mamta Mohandas) is a bold reporter who works for private news channel Right TV. Maranchara is a small fictitious coastal village. A private company has been awarded rights to mine nuclear fuel from the coast in Maranchar by Home Minister Thomas Chacko (Jagathy Sreekumar). There are a political sex scandal and a legal battle within which Minister Chacko, Nandan Menon, Anuradha Nandan and Thankamma (a local leader) are involved. The plot takes a turn when Anuradha obtains a video clip of the minister collaborating with police and corporates. They plan to kill innocent people occupying land with potential mineral resources. Nandan is kidnapped by gangsters working for the minister to lure Anuradha into returning the video. By sheer coincidence, Sathyanath gets involved. Unlike normal bystanders, he and Driver Nair (Nedumudi Venu) decide to join the couple in the fight to save the people of Maranchara, Nandan Menon, and Anuradha. more»
